The Spellcasters: Boss Mode is an expanded player versus environment mode built upon the main Spellcasters project. Solely developed by me for my Game Design and Production honours project, this mode builds upon the existing core systems of Spellcasters, adding a dedicated boss fight level. Up to four players face off against an enemy that attacks in time with the beat, similar to the spellcasting mechanics of the base game.
This is a completely dedicated build of the game intended as a proof of concept. I fully developed a new level tailored to the boss encounter and introduced new environmental features such as air lifts, to add verticality and new avenues of attack. The boss features unique attacks separate from those in the base game and introduces additional ones across it's multiple health stages.
